June 7, 2012

Bridget is from… somewhere else. It’s hard to pin down since the details have a tendency to get redacted.

    I think… is she a time traveller?

  2. Nick Daniel says:

That, I am unable to disclose.

  3. DHGM says:

Well then how do you expect me to write a profile for her? How come no one knows anything about her?

  4. Nick Daniel says:

    It’s fan fiction, speculate.

  5. Highlander says:

I just noticed that even one of her eyes is barcoded, she must be involved with some heavy stuff

    All right, here goes…

Bridget Blank: There is a certain entity that has appeared in a few scattered places all across the planet. She is known by many names in many legends the world over. “The Interloper”, “The Pacifist”, “White Destruction”, “The Harbinger of Armegeddon”, and many others, but of these varied and wild stories, a vast majority of them refer to this entity as a female with the name “Bridget”, with no last name known by any who retell the story. Sometimes a blank space is included next to Bridget’s first name just en case she actually does have a last name. Bridget is most commonly characterized as a strange, well-meaning girl with strange dark marks covering her body and one of her eyes that travels far and wide, with disasters of vast proportions following wherever she happens to go. While these tall tales are startling enough, there are factions who take these stories very seriously, considering “Bridget Blank” to be both real and dangerous, possibly a threat to the world as they know it. The Lapakan Inquisition, The Arcadian Supernatural Combatants, The Franian Investigative Corps, and many other organizations have operatives who do anything from merely researching a strange enigma of Lagend’s history, to some who zealously hunt her down, despite the desperate pleas from their friends and comrades that their just stories. If even only the most reliable sources are to be believed, then not only has Bridget appeared all across the planet, but also throughout Lagend’s history too. Mentions of her date back all the way back to the year 673 (or if “the Legend of the Angel’s Scourge” is to be believed, all the way back to the year -1) and scattered throughout almost 10,000 years of planetary history. The stories describe her as creating a being a powerful daemon spawned from the husk of a dead angel, An agent sent from the far future of the year “Y20K”, A supernatural life form from the heavens in the starry sky, A ghost of a girl killed long ago in horrific circumstances and returned from hell to enact revenge against the living, once suggested she might be a companion of a much more powerful creature noted as “a hairless Yuman emerging from a small blue obelisk”. Whatever she is, the stories also say she split a super-island into 3 different sections with her tears (2 of which would become Fra and Zhang-zhi), witnessed or even caused both the first and second comings of Lapak, Created a cyclone that sunk a whole fifth of the Lapakan navy during the second crusade, Heated a whole sea to nigh boiling temperatures that cooked the island of Golgothica into a lifeless desert, Summoned a horde of dragons to destroy the lost nation of Altanis, and making a Wetonetian war host vanish into thin air as they charged into battle.
Only a select few believe the tales of Bridget Blank. Most people of Lagend believe them to be complete hokum, if indeed they heard them at all. To this day no one truly knows what Bridget is, perhaps not even Bridget herself.

  7. Nick Daniel says:

sounds like the Lagendian version of The Doctor.

  8. DHGM says:

It does, doesn’t it. You didn’t exactly give me a lot to go on. The astute may notice an actual mention of the Doctor, though even this account may be false.

  9. Bruudwin says:

darn before I started reading about half way I googled Bridget Blank expecting her to be some online webcomic free-be character that anyone can use, much like that one character that everytime she is used in a story her little “tm phrase” about her usage\existence must be stated, don’t know who but you know who I mean?

  10. Nick Daniel says:

I’ve heard of such things but I don’t know any specifics. I can’t say I’d be very interested in participating.

  11. Sabreur says:

Well I think Bridget Blank is…

Hrm… hold on, what were we talking about?

  12. Highlander says:

So is she like Tom in regards of how unnoticable she is (most likely for a different reason altogether)?

  13. Nick Daniel says:

She is not really unnoticable. All will become abundantly clear when she appears in her own story some time next year.

  14. DHGM says:

Her own story!? I take it that’s not going to be anything like the crap I made up?

  15. Nick Daniel says:

It will be decidedly less epic.

  16. DHGM says:

Oh well, I didn’t expect my ramblings to go into canon anyway; the last thing I want to do is go against the mythos you so cleverly designed. Thanks for letting me play with them a little.

  17. Highlander says:

Less epic, but 42 times more confusing!

  18. Gillsing says:

So Bridget’s hidden surname is 4-5 letters, plus “ness”? What could it be? Nuvejness?

And the character Bruudwin was thinking of sounds like “Jenny Everywhere”.

  19. DHGM says:

    4-5 letters, ending with “ness”.

If it turns out to be “Harkness” I may just eat a pony.

  20. Nick Daniel says:

You will never ever find out.
